“I truly appreciate Ndahayo Medikal for welcoming me into her life and allowing me and my camera to document it. It's not easy to see people being stuck in a place where they don't get the chance to feel free. This video is my testimony about the way of life of these people. They struggle between two realities; looking at the Western World from their piece of land in the middle of the nature, lacking the minimum of financial resources to afford electricity, water, school and healthcare. Our society is showing to Africa what it means to succeed in Life without giving them any tool to follow the game. I use my words for once instead of imageries to express how heavy it can be to come back to Europe after giving your best to connect with a population, to get to know them, to share love with them. On one hand, I complete this project so glad and happy; Nyondo village gave me and my family an experience filled with love that changed our lives for ever. On the other hand, this unfairness is being less and less easy to take. I wish my work will help Kyaffee Farmers Coffee and especially Nalugemwa Elizabeth to achieve her dream and the one of other hundreds of Women and families around Mpigi Discrict. ACE was born in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. The love and determination found in these communities are what shaped who we are and what we aim to do. The goal of ACE is simple. Accelerating current social leaders, and inspiring those of tomorrow. ACE works with favela residents and social entrepreneurs to inspire and empower the next generation. ACE helps to provide structure and stability to local social leaders. By offering our space and a salary ACE empowers and connects those who want to make a difference in their communities and in the lives of the next generation. Our classes are run by favela residents who have used said activity to gain access to opportunities outside of the favela, helping create a vision and role model for our students.
