Women and Coffee - Kyaffe Famers Coffee Project
“I truly appreciate Ndahayo Medikal for welcoming me into her life and allowing me and my camera to document it. It's not
easy to see people being stuck in a place where they don't get the chance to feel free. This video is my testimony about the
way of life of these people. They struggle between two realities; looking at the Western World from their piece of land in the
middle of the nature, lacking the minimum of financial resources to afford electricity, water, school and healthcare. Our
society is showing to Africa what it means to succeed in Life without giving them any tool to follow the game.
I use my words for once instead of imageries to express how heavy it can be to come back to Europe after giving your best
to connect with a population, to get to know them, to share love with them. On one hand, I complete this project so glad and
happy; Nyondo village gave me and my family an experience filled with love that changed our lives for ever. On the other hand,
this unfairness is being less and less easy to take.
I wish my work will help Kyaffee Farmers Coffee and especially Nalugemwa Elizabeth to achieve her dream and the one of
other hundreds of Women and families around Mpigi Discrict. Big up Nalu, keep fighting to turn your dreams into reality!”
